Most artificial turf may look similar from above, but the construction underneath can make a meaningful difference. Velo Turf uses a woven structure without the heavy latex backing commonly found on conventional artificial grass—creating a cleaner, more flexible and highly permeable turf system.
01 — A DIFFERENT WAY TO BUILD TURF
CONVENTIONAL ARTIFICIAL TURF
Tufted fibres are typically secured with a thick latex or polyurethane backing. Drainage relies mainly on holes punched through the coated base.
VELO TURF WOVEN CONSTRUCTION
The turf fibres are mechanically integrated into an open woven base, eliminating the need for a heavy latex coating and creating a cleaner, more flexible structure.
02 — OPEN DRAINAGE ACROSS THE SURFACE
CONVENTIONAL PUNCHED DRAINAGE
Water must travel towards individual drainage holes in the backing. Drainage performance therefore depends on the number, size and spacing of those holes.
VELO TURF OPEN-WEAVE DRAINAGE
The permeable woven construction allows water to pass through a much larger area of the base, supporting fast and more evenly distributed drainage.
03 — FLEXIBLE, LIGHTER CONSTRUCTION
CONVENTIONAL COATED BACKING
A thick backing adds material, weight and stiffness to the finished turf. The coated construction can also make the product more difficult to handle and roll.
VELO TURF WOVEN BACKING
The woven base remains flexible without relying on a heavy coating, making the turf easier to handle while reducing unnecessary backing material.
